What is a Charcuterie Board?
There are many varieties and styles of Charcuterie Boards. The main function is to act as a serving board for social gatherings. The offerings and presentations are only limited by your imagination. Most will drop a variety of cheeses, crackers, and dried or smoked meats on their board but the more creative host will also include nuts, olives, peppers, or other exotic snacks.
Our Charcuterie Boards are all one of a kind, hand made, often have live edges on them and a large or long over sized handle. Most of the ones we offer are Black Walnut or Cherry.
Never cut on a Charcuterie Board as it will scratch and is not designed for cutting.
What is a Geppetta board?
Geppetta Boards function the same as Charcutterie Boards but have handles. They are typically rectangular. We like to add a twist to some of ours and will put handles on a single or double live edge piece of wood, oil and wax it and send it to its forever home to be smothered in nutritional decadence which is only limited by the owners imagination.
What is a Cheese Board?
The Cheese Boards that we offer are made of a variety of woods locally sourced in Ohio. We have created Cheese Boards with Cherry, Black Walnut, Maple, Hickory, Ash, and Sycamore. These boards are for serving and not cutting. Cutting on a Cheese Board will scratch and damage the board.
What is a Butcher Block?
We specialize in one of a kind Butcher Blocks. Butcher Blocks are designed for cutting and actually help to prevent knives from dulling when they drag across them. We offer a variety of styles with a variety of woods. Most incorporate Black Walnut, Maple and Cherry, but we have been known to slide into some Hickory, Sycamore, and Ash. Butcher Blocks are designed for cutting on as the surface if derived from the hardest portions of wood which is the end of the board as opposed to the edge of the board. (easier to show than describe!!!)
These all make fantastic gifts for any household and are very popular as gifts for Christmas, Fathers Day, Mothers Day, Birthdays or Anniversary’s and are more personal than a run of the mill gift card!
